The fascination of flying in its most original form
The Garmisch-Partenkirchen Paragliding School was founded in 1990 and is located in the middle of one of the most beautiful flying areas in the Alps. Garmisch-Partenkirchen offers ideal conditions for experiencing the fascination of flying.
Our training mountains: Hausberg, Kreuzeck, Osterfelder and Wank
Our training mountains in Garmisch-Partenkirchen are the Hausberg, the Kreuzeck, the Osterfelder and the Wank. As we do not currently have an approved training slope for beginners' courses, our training program is limited to the high-altitude course.
The high altitude course
After your first experiences in basic training, the high altitude course is just around the corner - nothing will keep you on the ground. The prerequisites for this are a successfully completed basic course, at least 15 flights over 300 meters altitude and your own equipment. The high-altitude course includes at least 25 flights over 500 meters in two different flying areas.
Training focuses on take-off, landing, straight and level flight as well as altitude reduction via figure eights and full circles with landing instructions.
Theoretical instruction and course completion
During the course, theoretical instruction takes place in the areas of behavior in special cases, air law, meteorology and technology. The course ends with a theoretical and practical examination by DHV examiners to obtain a restricted pilot's license.
